Complex trauma

The past doesn't have to define your future

You've Been Carrying This for Too Long

Maybe it wasn't one event. It was years of it: the neglect, the abuse, the instability. A childhood where you never quite felt safe. Relationships that taught you love comes with conditions, or doesn't come at all.

You survived it. But now you're realizing survival isn't the same as living.

You struggle to trust, even when people prove themselves trustworthy. Your body stays tense, braced for the next thing to go wrong. Small moments trigger big reactions you can't always explain. You feel disconnected: from others, from yourself, from any sense of peace.

This is what complex trauma does.
It doesn't just live in your memories; it lives in your body, your relationships, your sense of who you are.

But here's what I know:

It doesn't have to stay this way.

Therapy for Complex Trauma Can Help

If You're Struggling With:
  • Difficulty trusting others or forming close relationships

  • Intense emotions that feel impossible to manage

  • Feeling numb, empty, or disconnected from yourself

  • Emotional flashbacks or being easily triggered

  • Chronic shame or feeling fundamentally "broken"

  • Repeating painful relationship patterns

  • Physical tension or never feeling truly safe

  • Struggling to set boundaries or know what you need

You don't have to live this way anymore.

How Sessions Work

  • Before we go deep, we create a foundation of trust. You'll learn tools to regulate your nervous system, and we'll work at a pace that feels right for you. Never pushing faster than you're ready for.

  • Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), we help your brain process traumatic memories that have been stuck. EMDR is evidence-based and highly effective for complex trauma—allowing you to integrate experiences without being retraumatized.

Through psychodynamic therapy, we explore how your past shaped the patterns you're living with now. We bring unconscious beliefs into awareness so you can make conscious choices.

With somatic (body-based) work, we address the trauma your body is holding. Your nervous system learns it's safe now. Tension releases. You reconnect with yourself.

  • Complex trauma often happened in relationship, and it heals there too. Our therapeutic relationship becomes a place where trust is possible, where you're met with consistency and care, and where all parts of you are valued.

Healing is possible. You may have lived with this pain for so long that it feels permanent. But it's not. With the right support, your nervous system can learn safety. Your patterns can change. You can move from survival to truly living.
